My career in education has spanned two decades. Every single school year I strive to provide the most comprehensive education experience I possibly can for my students, seeking outside resources and support for our school system whenever possible.
To that end, I’ve written numerous winning grants totaling over $400,000.00 to support important initiatives in our school, including bringing our 1960’s Media Center into the 21st Century by transforming the space into a state-of-the-art Library Learning Commons. I also secured funding to increase student access to technology and realize our 1:1 student device goal. Access to this equipment had a direct impact on bringing our school out of being a focus school in mathematics.
More recently a research proposal I submitted with colleagues was accepted by the National Association for School Psychologist's conference, where we presented our findings on the positive role school connectedness plays on improving student outcomes.
In 2018 my dedication to teaching was recognized twice.
On March 22nd, I was the proud recipient of the 2018 Stamford Public Education Foundation Excellence in Education Educators Award. This honor was given to me for enhancing student learning with enrichment; embracing community collaboration by bringing outside resources into the classroom; and demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development of self and others. In addition to this award, I was the recipient of 2018 Stamford Public Schools Spotlight Award. Recipients of this award are recognized for outstanding teaching, exceptional student support, exemplary community involvement and having a positive influence on school culture.
